A Doaky Scenario
A defensive free kick taken inside the 18 yard box has been taken quickly, struck you on the head and deflected in, you were in the 18 yard box at the time the ball struck you.
The ball is now in the net, and the attackers are claiming a goal, what do you do?

Order a retake of the free kick as the ball is not in play until it leaves the penalty box.

What I'd do in this scenario is tell Doak to shut up and get a round in

Goal stands it'sw only a free-kick not a goal kick therefore the ball is in play as soon as it is kicked.
However I would question why the referee is in the penalty area when the kick is being taken

A defensive free kick in the defending 18 yard area needs to leave that area before the ball is in play

Referee's are asked to enter the penalty area mate, its one of the boxes found on an assesment.
Ok second scenario,
you have awarded a free kick in the defending 18 yard box, you are running back to the halfway line, the free kick is taken quickly, it hits you when you are outside the penalty area and goes into the defending teams net, what do you give?

As we're really only part of the furniture when it comes to the pitch (same as kicking it against the post), it would be a corner kick as it is the same as someone kicking the ball directly into their own goal for a Direct/Indirect freekick.
