Default Hiya

Hi my name's Josh Brodie.

I've only refereed at youth level but I'm starting as assistant in the Teesside Men's League in September and am really looking forward to it. Qualified in November 2008.

I love refereeing

Plus I was well chuffed with being on the front cover of the County FA handbook when i got it though the post this morning haha!

Evening all, my name's Lawrence Martin (aka BigL)
I am 23 & a Level 7 from Northampton.
This will be my 3rd season refereeing.
I manage a youth under 13's team as well as refereeing so try to look at things from both angles.

Might as well fill this out now!

Been Refereeing since September 1995 as a Class 3 - when we had the old system of Classification.

Served on the West Midlands Regional League regularly since 1997 - the first 5 or 6 years (iirc) I was on the list it was a Contributory League - you had to pass the FA Fitness Test to be able to run the line on the Premier Division of it.

I've also served as a Fourth Official on both the Southern League (The Doc Martens League as it was back then) and the FA Trophy Proper - highlight of which was serving as Fourth Official to Steve Tanner in a match between Worcester City and Crawley Town when he was on his way up through the system.

Promoted to Class 2 / Level 6 in 2002

I've also refereed in the Republic of Ireland (on one of the Dublin Leagues).

I'm currently refereeing in Oslo, Norway - at National League Division 5 Level - where the standard is surprisingly high.

Finally - at the last count I've officiated in games in 11 different European Nations - those being England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Belgium, The Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Estonia and Turkey

Wow, quite a resume!
I'm from California, I refereed youth games u-12 to u-17 from '96 - '01 when I went on hiatus during college. Since moving to southern California I picked it back up again. Spent the last year rehabilitating various injuries and decided to put playing in adult leagues down here aside in an effort to protect my life.
I'm a member of a couple ref associations and will be upgrading to level 7 for 2011. Just centered a bunch of youth State Cup matches last weekend and managed to miss putting sunscreen on my hairline. It looks fantastic. I'm a writer by trade so don't spend much time outside beyond refereeing.
My wife's from Birmingham, and when/if we move back I'm going to enjoy saving money on sunblock.

After reading the above, not sure mine is in same league really(!)
Qualified in 1984, rising to Class 1 by 1989. Did 2 season in CC before I started coaching youth football.
Took my FA Level 1 in 1993 and Level 2 in 1994. Been coaching ever since; mainly Youth football but have had 2 Sunday men's teams.
Not on any League list at the moment but still managed to middle over 30 games this season!
Looking forward to mentoring my 16 year old next year as he is going to tak ethe course in Septemebr 2010.
Hope to share some stories with you in the future.

Hi guys,

I'm Jonathon, I'm 17 and I'm from Glasgow, and going to be taking the introductory classes beginning in August. I hope to go as far as I can with the whistle, but I'll take each step as it comes. Hopefully here I'll be able to get any answers and some advice when I finally get on the pitch.

Cheers, Jonny.
