Default Phil Dowd First Aid

Folks any of you who watched Bolton vs Everton will have seen Klasnic get clattered by a high boot, he didnt move and whilst calling on the physio, Phil Dowd got down and put his ear to the Klasnics mouth area (checking that he was breathing)

I think its brilliant that a top flight ref hasnt forgotten that players and refs are both people, brilliant act of compassion that will no doubt go unseen for the most part.. well done Phil!!

Yes Doaky, I too noticed Mr. Dowd's swift & appropriate reaction to the potentially life threatening situation Klasnic found himself in. Great credit must go to him, which is more than can be said of the casual manner in which his team-mates reacted, & the lack of urgency in help arriving from the touchline!
As a First-Aider myself, I was alarmed to see that only the referee, was alive to the seriousness of the situation. Fortunately, the player made a full recovery, & indeed, went on to score!
I'd like to think that Mr. Dowd will get fulsome praise in the media over this, but I'm not holding my breath!

Very much agree with you both, absoloute class from Mr Dowd, there must be a reason he's in the Select Group!

In all seriousness however, it was very much applauded by me, and it's a shame the 'media' don't pick up on this sort of thing...
